An article yesterday in the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports on a new system just authorized for use in Millington, Tennessee. The system provided by American Traffic Solutions is built into a nondescript van that can be moved around the city and that monitors speed of the vehicles around it. If a vehicle is caught speeding a ticket is mailed to the offender. The technology is basically the same as that used in the RLCs.

Collector roads usually have legal speed limits of 55 mi/h or less. Speed limits on local roads are often 35 mi/h or lower.
