Tennessee Auto Accident Lawyer Wants You To Keep A Lookout For A Chattanooga Hit & Run Vehicle

Hit & Run Driver

Hit & Run Driver

To all of the readers of my blog “The Tennessee Auto Accident Attorney”, please take note: The Chattanooga Tennessee Police Department are looking for information leading to the arrest of a driver who caused a motorcycle fatality this past Sunday afternoon. The driver being sought was in a blue PT Cruiser that crossed the centerline and caused another driver to swerve to avoid hitting it and who then hit a motorcycle killing it’s rider.

Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Most H&R drivers are under the influence of alcohol, others have already run afoul of the law and have lost their driving privileges, yet they continue to get behind the wheel and ignore the rules.

Many H&R drivers are trying to avoid detection because they don’t have insurance and they don’t want to face the responsibility for their actions. No matter which category they fall into they are the very worst type of person, someone who will leave an injured or dying fellow human being lying in the street.

If you or someone you knows a person with a blue PT Cruiser ask them if they might be the one the police are looking for. If you suspect that you know the person contact the Chattanooga police department with your information.

If you or a loved one is injured or killed by a Hit & Run driver in a Tennessee automobile accident contact the experienced Nashville car crash lawyers at Phillip Miller & Associates and take advantage of a free consultation to determine how you want to proceed.

Nashville Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team Needs Help Identifying A Hit & Run Driver

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 8, 2010

The police department’s Fatal Crash Team continues to work to identify the hit and run driver who last November 9th ran over a woman who had been ejected from her car on I-24.

The investigation shows Heather Ross, 26, was killed after she lost control of her SUV, was ejected onto the interstate, and was then run over by a blue car, believed to be a Ford Mustang, at 1:20 a.m.

Evidence shows that Ross was traveling west on I-24 in a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer when she veered off onto the right shoulder and drove over the rumble strip. She overcorrected to the left, swerved across all lanes of traffic, and struck the median wall. The door of the SUV came open, and Ross, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected onto the interstate.

Officer Matthew Barnes was also traveling west on I-24, saw the SUV go out of control, and witnessed the blue car run over Ross. Barnes stopped to render aid. He reported the blue car stopped momentarily near Harding Place, but then kept going.

Anyone with knowledge of the blue car, believed to be a Ford Mustang, and/or its driver, is urged to contact police at 862-7730 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com. Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone or text message can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.

Nashville Automobile Accident Attorney Rails On Hit & Run Driver

As an experienced Nashville automobile accident lawyer, Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Most H&R drivers are under the influence of alcohol, others have already run afoul of the law and have lost their driving privileges, yet they continue to get behind the wheel and ignore the rules. No matter which category they fall into they are the very worst type of person, someone who will leave an injured or dying pedestrian lying in the street.

Every time I read about a Hit & Run fatality my blood boils thinking about what kind of person leaves another human being lying in the street to die alone. A recent article reporting little in the way of facts, simply says that a 59-year-old Kentucky man died after being struck by a vehicle. How sad is that? My prayers go out to the man’s family and friends.

Tennessee Auto Accident Lawyer Reports On A Hit & Run Fatality

Hit & Run Fatality

Hit & Run Fatality

As an experienced Nashville automobile accident lawyer, I have seen all sorts of things that make question the human condition.  The worst kind of person, the most selfish and cold-blooded, that I have run into in this business is the Hit & Run driver. They run someone down, it may or may not be their fault but they choose to run and hide, leaving a fellow human being lying, dying in the street.

Reference an AP story out of Kentucky. A 69-year-old man was run down by a car at an intersection, allegedly driven by a 19-year-old woman who’s now locked up in the county jail under a $100,000 bond on a charge 2nd degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. We won’t know until she faces trial why she chose to leave the man dying in the street.

If you witness someone hitting and running, be a good citizen. Get the license plate number and report it to the police. If you can do it safely, whip out your cell phone camera and make a picture of the car that has hit and run . . . emphasizing its tag, of course.

Nashville Automobile Accident Attorney Reviews Wrongful Death Lawsuit Under The Tennessee Dram Shop Act

Tennessee Dram Shop Act

Tennessee Dram Shop Act

In some Tennessee automobile accidents an experienced Tennessee automobile accident attorney will be able to identify entities other than a drunken driver who may be liable for damages because of their actions leading up to the collision. A good example is exemplified by a lawsuit filed the other day in Hamilton County Circuit Court. I read about the suit in the Chattanooga Times-Free Press and a friend sent me a copy of the Complaint.

The complaint names a local bar, The Chattanooga Billiard Club which had a policy of providing free alcohol to employees in violation of a local ordinance which prohibits bar employees from drinking at their place of employment. (on or off the clock). Another ordinance prohibits the sale of alcohol to anyone between the hours of 3 AM to 8 AM.

According the suit an employee of the Defendant bar a 25-year-old man finished his shift at 3 AM and took advantage of the free booze policy drinking until sometime around 7 AM when he left the bar highly intoxicated and drove away. Within minutes of leaving the bar he ran a red light and hit and killed a female pedestrian. He left the scene, leaving the woman to die alone in the street.

He went home and called 911 to report his car stolen in an attempt to avoid responsibility for his actions. He was charged with vehicular homicide and DUI. Also sued was the driver’s stepfather who owned the vehicle that was the weapon used to cause the death of this unfortunate woman. My prayers go out to the family and friends of the victim who suffered this terrible loss. I also include the young man and his family, may he find peace and come to terms with his actions and the consequences thereof.

The Tennessee Dram Shop law establishes liability arising out of the irresponsible sale or provision of alcohol to obviously intoxicated persons or minors who subsequently cause death or injury to third parties as a result of alcohol-related car crashes and other accidents. I will keep up with this case and report later on the outcome.

If you or a loved one is injured or killed in a Tennessee automobile accident caused by a drunk driver and you hope to recover all of the damages the law allows you need to consult with an experienced Tennessee automobile accident attorney like those at Phillip Miller & Associates. We offer a free consultation so that you can gain the information you will need to face this odyssey through the legal system.

Nashville Automobile Accident Lawyer Reviews The Case Of a Drunk Hit & Run Driver

Hit & Run Fatality

Hit & Run Fatality

It was probably not the time or place to be walking along rural US Highway 84 at 3:30 AM but Ms. Damita Law, 47, of Malcolm Alabama was doing just that when she was hit and killed by a passing pick-up truck driven by 19-year-old Ezekiel Lewis. My prayers go out to Ms. Law’s family and friends. As an experienced Tennessee automobile accident attorney, I’ve dealt with dozens of Hit & Run cases and they always leave me shaking my head in sadness.

According to the report on the website of WRBC-TV in Chattanooga, Mr. Lewis left the scene of the fatal accident. He left this poor woman to die alone in a ditch. Troopers investigating the death say that they believed that alcohol and speed played a role in this horrible situation.

Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Most H&R drivers are under the influence of alcohol, others have already run afoul of the law and have lost their driving privileges, yet they continue to get behind the wheel and ignore the rules.

Of all of the people and situations I have run into over the years as a Tennessee automobile accident lawyer, Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Reference a recent Hit & Run accident in Hartsville, Tennessee that left a 7-year-old boy dead. As he returned home the young man crossed the street to pick up a neighbors trash can that had blown into the yard. He was struck by a mid-sized car that sped off and away from the scene.
