Tennessee Child Stuck Down By Hit & Run Driver

Hit & Run Drivers Are The Worst Kind Of People

Hit & Run Drivers Are The Worst Kind Of People

White House, Tennessee police are looking for the driver of a red Chevy Silverado pickup truck, in relation to a Hit & Run of a 12-year-old boy. From the limited facts in the local media report this is a driver that needs to get got. The driver, either intentionally or because he was impaired, drove off the road and struck the young man.

As an experienced Nashville automobile accident lawyer, Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Most H&R drivers are under the influence of alcohol, others have already run afoul of the law and have lost their driving privileges, yet they continue to get behind the wheel and ignore the rules.

Many H&R drivers are trying to avoid detection because they don’t have insurance and they don’t want to face the responsibility for their actions. No matter which category they fall into they are the very worst type of person, someone who will leave an injured or dying pedestrian lying in the street. Every time I read about a Hit & Run fatality my blood boils thinking about what kind of persons leaves another human being lying in the street to die alone.

Nashville Child Dashes Into The Street Is Struck By Hit & Run Driver

Who Is Responsible for Roadway Safety?

Injured Child Pedestrian

Injured Child Pedestrian

Everyone. We all are responsible for driving, walking, and biking safely on our Nation’s roads. The engineers and planners have the responsibility to make sure that roads are designed and operating properly — with safety for all road users in mind.

Drivers and pedestrians have the responsibility to always be alert and obey the traffic rules. Passengers should always buckle up and act responsibly. The police and the courts have the responsibility to make sure that the traffic and pedestrian laws are enforced.

Public safety agencies have the responsibility of responding to and securing crash locations and enforcing traffic laws. Local communities and county and state governments need to allocate funding for safe roads and increase public awareness about road safety. Everyone should take responsibility for roadway safety.

These are fine ideals for adults and they most assuredly apply to adults responsibility to take care of our children. Each of us, as drivers, are responsible to keep a lookout when children are present. Parents have the responsibility to see that their children are trained in road safety issues, such as, crossing at marked crosswalks, following the traffic lights and avoid running into the street from between parked cars. And most importantly the parents are responsible to supervising their children when they are playing near the street.

A four-year-old south Nashville child has been taken to the hospital after being struck by a car, after running out into the street from between parked cars on Natchez Court this past Saturday. The child was taken to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Although the driver would not have been responsible, he/she fled the scene leaving the injured child lying in the street. What a lowlife, someone who hits a child and doesn’t stop to render aid.

Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Most H&R drivers are under the influence of alcohol, others have already run afoul of the law and have lost their driving privileges, yet they continue to get behind the wheel and ignore the rules.

Repeat Drunk Driver Runs Down 18 Month-Old Child and Flees The Scene

Drunk Hit & Run Driver Should Pay The Price

Drunk Hit & Run Driver Should Pay The Price

The local Knoxville media report was limited on facts, but it appears that an 18-month-old boy was hit by a car Thursday, and that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The child is in stable condition. There is nothing in the media report that gives an indication as to why an 18-month-old child would be in the street at 10:30 PM, or how the accident occurred.

Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Most H&R drivers are under the influence of alcohol, others have already run afoul of the law and have lost their driving privileges, yet they continue to get behind the wheel and ignore the rules. Many H&R drivers are trying to avoid detection because they don’t have insurance and they don’t want to face the responsibility for their actions. No matter which category they fall into they are the very worst type of person, someone who will leave an injured or dying fellow human being lying in the street.

Quick action by the Knoxville police and with the help of witnesses, lead to the capture and arrest of a 43-year-old Knoxville woman, who was charged with driving with a revoked license and leaving the scene of an injury accident. We, just the other day spoke about DUI repeat offenders and steps that can be taken to keep them off the street.

Tennessee Bicycle Rider Killed By Hit & Run Driver

Share The Road

Share The Road

Georgia police suspect that a Hit & Run driver killed a Kingsport, Tennessee woman and left her husband in serious condition. A local resident called police and reported that two people were lying on the highway near his house. The couple had been riding a tandem bicycle along a rural road when the accident happened.

I’ve said many times, Hit & Run drivers are, in my consideration, the worst kind of human being. Most H&R drivers are under the influence of alcohol, others have already run afoul of the law and have lost their driving privileges, yet they continue to get behind the wheel and ignore the rules.

Stay At The Scene Of An Accident

For readers of my Blog you know how I feel about Hit & Run drivers. For those of you who are not familiar with “The Tennessee Auto Accident Attorney” Blog I’ll say it again.

The police in Jefferson County Tennessee are looking for male in his late teens or early 20s driving a red car with some damage to the drivers side and missing a couple of hub caps. This Lowlife, for some reason, crossed the centerline of Old Dandridge Pike and hit a motorcyclist in the oncoming lane. This jerk drove away leaving the motorcyclist on the side of the road. Fortunately, the motorcycle driver is in stable condition.

If you or someone you love has been hurt in a serious Tennessee car accident due to somebody else’s negligence, then you may be feeling angry, frightened, or even alone in your suffering.

There is no reason for you to bear your burden alone.  The experience of a Tennessee auto accident is traumatic enough and your recovery will bring its own challenges.  You don’t need the added stress of worrying about who will pay for the medical care you need, how your car will be repaired, and if the individuals responsible for your suffering will be brought to justice.  This is the time to call Phillip Miller & Associates, the law firm of local Tennessee attorneys and staff who for the past 25 years have dedicated their lives to protecting the rights of injured men, women, and children in Tennessee. Nashville Driver Loses Control Knocks Cab Through The Front Of A Local Restaurant

Highways and city streets are not the only dangerous place for drivers. Reference a car restaurant crash the other night in Nashville. According to the taxi driver another vehicle lost control in front of a well known local restaurant on West End Blvd, and hit his cab causing him to drive into the front of the restaurant.

According to local media reports the other driver fled the scene. Fortunately, the taxi driver received minor injuries to his leg and no one else was injured.

Hit & Run Driver

Hit & Run Driver

As an experienced Tennessee auto accident lawyer I read about a number of different types of Hit & Run cases. Drivers hit pedestrians, other car, trucks, some hit ditches, and they all leave the scene.

Road Rage Driver Who Caused Multi-Car Collision Now In Jail

Road Rage Is A Crime

Road Rage Is A Crime

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) defines aggressive driving as, “when individuals commit a combination of moving traffic offenses so as to endanger other persons or property.”  Road rage differs from aggressive driving. It is a criminal offense and is an assault with a motor vehicle or other dangerous weapon by the operator or passenger(s) of one motor vehicle on the operator or passenger(s) of another motor vehicle or is caused by an incident that occurred on a roadway.

A good example of road rage became public last week in Johnson City, Tennessee when a Kodak man got into an argument with two people in a city bar, followed them when they left and rammed his car into them numerous times, finally causing them to spin out of control and strike another car.

Of course, after this guy acts the fool and leaves people injured and in need of care, he runs off and hides. You can imagine the good thinking going on with this fellow, he knew the people he wrecked. He hid out for several days until the police ran him down. He’s now in jail where he belongs.

This is a good example of a situation where a bit of creative judgment is called for. No matter what sort of jail time he gets for this dangerous behavior, and the time needs to be serious, after he is released he should be barred from operating a motor vehicle and from frequenting places that sell alcohol for a period of years.

The public also plays a role in making roadways safer.  If you’re a witness to, or victim of road rage or any other form of aggressive driving, report it by dialing *847 or 911.  Never retaliate or react in a manner that causes more danger. Slow down and let the other driver pass.  When it’s safe to use your cell phone, call and provide them with your location, a description of the vehicle and details regarding the aggressive driving behavior.

If you or a loved one is involved in a Tennessee automobile accident involving an aggressive or  road rage driver it is critical that you contact the experienced Nashville automobile accident attorneys at Phillip Miller & Associates and take advantage of a free consultation to find out about your rights and remedies.

Tennessee Hit & Run Driver Leaves Motorcyclist On The Road To Die

A 21-year-old man is paralyzed from the waist down and struggles to recover at the Vanderbilt Rehab Center after being struck by a Hit & Run driver in Clarksville Tennessee the other night. The low-down dog who hit him and left the scene has been arrested and charged. His blood/alcohol reading was 0.14, almost two times the legal limit. My prayers go out to this young man for a speedy and complete recovery.

Tennessee Hit & Run Driver Goes On Trial

Pedestrian Fatalities

Pedestrian Fatalities

Stupid is as stupid does, and a Chattanooga man stands as a great example of this axiom. A 42-year-old Chattanooga woman was walking to work and as she crossed The street at the intersection of Walnut and Fourth Sts. A 26-year-old man driving a red Nissan 240SX hit and killed her.

This low-life then drove away without stopping to render assistance or call emergency workers. He stopped a gas station where he took time to buy chips and a soft drink before calling police and reported a fake car-jacking report.

During his trial this week on charges of DUI and vehicular homicide the state provided video from the gas station that showed the man lingering around and his vehicle parked outside while he called in the false report.

This guy is where he needs to be, before a jury of his peers who will pass judgment on him. When you are in a wreck, whether there is a personal injury or simply property damage, you must stop and share information necessary to identify you and your insurance company. You should immediately notify emergency responders.

More crashes happen at intersections than at any other place. Intersections constitute a very small part of rural and urban street/highway systems, yet they are implicated in 31.9 percent of all motor vehicle crashes and 15.5 percent of all fatal crashes (2004 NHTSA data). Be very careful when approaching any intersection or driveway. Never assume another driver will yield the right-of-way to you. Wait until the coast is clear and always be prepared to stop.

Nashville Beer Thief Wrecks Car During Escape And Leaves His Accomplice Trapped In Wreck

Hit & Run Driver

Hit & Run Driver

The Philosopher Forrest Gump often quoted the immortal words of his mother, “Stupid is as stupid does.” How aptly this fits the Nashville man who caused a serious automobile accident at the intersection of Old Hickory Blvd. and Charlotte Ave. yesterday.

This driver and a friend started off down the “stupid trail” by stealing beer from a conveniences store and then speeding off to avoid capture. During his flight he rammed into the rear end of  a vehicle that had stopped at the intersection. The two people in the other car were seriously injured and the driver’s partner in crime was trapped in the wreckage.

Being the man that he is, the driver fled the area on foot, adding to the list of charges he faces when he is captured. But then, “stupid is as stupid does.”
