Tragic Holiday Crash

In my morning blog, The Tennessee Auto Accident Attorney I wrote about the good news from this year’s holiday driving season. Traffic fatalities in Tennessee were down for the season and they seem to be trending down for the whole year. Now. for the bad news, statistics are one thing but the specifics of individual Tennessee automobile accidents bring nothing but pain and sadness to the families and friends of the deceased.

The owner of a popular Cincinnati restaurant and his toddler daughter, were both killed in a head-on car crash. Howard Zuelfe, and his 20 month-old daughter, Harper, were passengers in a car that was hit by another vehicle on I-75, near Athens, Tennessee. The driver of the other car was also killed. Tennessee Highway Patrol investigators said that Brent McKinney was driving the wrong way on the wrong side of the interstate and rammed head-on into the Zuefle car driven by 19-year-old Howard Jr. Neither Mr. Zuefle, nor the child, were wearing safety restraints.

We will probably never know the why of how this tragic Tennessee car accident occurred. Why does a person get on the wrong side of the interstate and drive head-on into an oncoming car? Autopsy reports on Mr. McKinney may reveal the cause of his obvious impairment. My sympathy and prayers go out to the family, indeed the entire City of Cincinnati for their terrible loss.
