Just this week in Tampa Florida a taskforce lead by agents from Direct General Automobile Insurance Company with cooperation from Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, arrested and charged four members of a gang that filed false claims and several associates who were involved in staged automobile accidents. Direct General and  many other companies are taking a “zero tolerance” policy toward staged accidents and auto insurance fraud, and is working closely with law enforcement agencies to battle this fraud wave.
